    Food Not Bombs has no formal leaders and strives to include everyone in its decision making process. Each group recovers food that would otherwise be thrown out and makes fresh hot vegetarian meals that are served in city parks to anyone without restriction. The groups also serve free vegetarian meals at protests and other events.

    Ganienkeh is a new Mohawk settlement in the Adirondacks established May 13, 1974. It was begun as a rebirth of th Original Instructions of the Mohawk people, and a rebirth of Mohawk lands. Their "alternative life-styles" only offer less of more of the same.

    There’s nothing new about a New Age of mysticism, masochism and money. "We ought not to act and speak as though we were asleep" (Heraclitus). The astrologers have only predicted the future ; the point is to create it. Paradise is possible. Don’t burn out, don’t sell out, break out. Why wallow in escapism when we can really escape ?

    The text is adapted from a speech by Young Chief, a Cayuse leader, who spoke in opposition to the Point Elliot Treaty in 1855. It was published in “Touch the Earth” by Teri McLuhan, published by Outerbridge & Dienstfrey.

    How often do you feel completely powerless ? Without a voice ? Unable to do anything without those with power taking control and deciding what’s best for you ? Will they allow you to organise for yourselves without any controlling authority or arty leadership inteference ? Wil you be able to organise around your needs and make decisions that effect your own life ?

    There is an alternative

    We believe that you should be able to do all of this and more. That’s why we advocate anarchy a truly revolutionary idea when compared to the party politics you’re probably used to. Just think about it : Residents controlling their own community, ensuring decent housing for all : Workers managing their own work-places : People exercising control over their everyday lives without being dictated to by bosses,managers or party hierarchy.

    Anarchy !

    Unlike all parties, with anarchy you don’t have to wait for authority from above to act. Anarchy is in us and around us all the time. We are all capable of acting independant of authority. Try it.

    Lettera aperta al Dottor Argenziano direttore dello stabilimento di sterminio « Rumianca »

    Non sappiamo de quanto tempo abbia ricevuto l’investitura di direttore di Lager (ci scusi, di stabilimento) ; sappiamo però che è riuscito molto bene ed in brevissimo tempo a diventare l’aguzzino degli operai.

    I dirigenti che a Torino stanno pontificando sullo schiavismo da Lei perpretato, saranno soddisfattissimi, probabilimente. La proporranno per l’onorificenza presidenziale di cavaliere per meriti di lavoro.

    L’accusiamo di :

    1) Adottare senza prevenzioni metodi di lavorazione che minano in modo irreparabili la salute dei lavoratori, infatti le sostanze usate per la lavorazione di prodotti agricoli causano malattie infettive con sintomi di febbre ; il gas ammoniacale causa disturbi intestinali con diminuzione dei globuli rossi, determinando l’anemia ; la solforico nitrosa causa la bronchite. Come se ciò non bastasse, le ricordiamo che l’età media dei suoi operai si aggira sui 55 anni.

    2) Di adoperare metodi da schiavista per aumentare la produzione.

    3) Di mantenere gli operai in un costante clima di terrore. Arriva perfino a minacciarli di licenziamento quando devono rimanere in Cassa Mutua per curare i mali che la Ruminaca gli procura.

    4) Di servisi in qualità di sbirri, per un maggior controllo degli operai, di piccoli truffatori (vedi l’ex brigadiere Milanta, ora Capo-guardia).

    Capirà bene egregio dottor Argenziano, che gli operai non possono passare sopra tanto facilmente a simili angherie, da persona intelligente quale. Elle è, capirà perfettamente anche le future azioni che dovremo fare contro di Lei. Ci spiace immensamente, ma non potrà dormire tranquillamente fintanto che le cose alla Rumianca non cambieranno : purtroppo dovremo render la inoffensivo. E tutto questo perchè, nonostante gli operai morti e quelli ridotti a larve umane, Lei non ha minimamente migliorato le condizioni di lavoro all’interno dello stabilimento. Riteniamo nostro dovere riportar la sulla retta via, anche se dovessimo trascinarla in Tribunali con gli altri componenti della "banda".
